Set up and manage Luna AI connections

Luna AI is available to all Publisher Champ members on both ChatGPT and Claude. The official PublisherChamp plugin provides the ChatGPT connection, while Claude connects through a custom connector. Once connected, you can ask natural-language questions about your sales, royalties, books, advertising, marketplaces, formats, and more—without building reports by hand.

This guide explains how to:

  • Connect Publisher Champ to ChatGPT from the official plugin listing
  • Connect your Publisher Champ account to Claude
  • Connect the same Publisher Champ login to another Claude account
  • Connect multiple Publisher Champ logins to one Claude account
  • Choose shared or downstream accounts naturally in your AI conversation
  • Review and deactivate individual connections
Official ChatGPT plugin

PublisherChamp is now approved and publicly listed as a ChatGPT plugin. Use the Connect with ChatGPT button in Luna AI or open the official PublisherChamp plugin listing. The previous paid-plan video and manual MCP setup are no longer needed for ChatGPT.

What can I ask Luna?

After connecting, you can ask ChatGPT or Claude questions such as:

  • “How much did I earn last month?”
  • “Show my royalties by author and marketplace.”
  • “Which books sold the most copies this quarter?”
  • “Compare ebook and paperback performance.”
  • “How much did I spend on advertising for this series?”
  • “Which country generated the most royalties?”
  • “Where can I find my historical BSR data in Publisher Champ?”

Luna can answer broad questions, create detailed breakdowns, and help you find the right Publisher Champ feature.

Before you connect

You will need:

  1. An active Publisher Champ login.
  2. A ChatGPT or Claude account.
  3. For Claude, access to custom connectors.

Claude currently supports remote custom connectors on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Free accounts are limited to one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner or Primary Owner may need to add the connector to the organization before members can connect their individual accounts. See Claude’s custom connector guide for the latest plan and organization requirements.

tip

For Claude, complete the initial setup on Claude web or Claude Desktop. Those remain the simplest places to manage custom connectors.

Connect Publisher Champ to ChatGPT

1. Open Luna AI

Sign in to the Publisher Champ account you want ChatGPT to analyze, then open Luna AI from the Publisher Champ sidebar.

2. Select “Connect with ChatGPT”

The button opens the official PublisherChamp plugin listing in ChatGPT. You no longer need to copy the MCP URL or follow the old video walkthrough.

3. Add PublisherChamp in ChatGPT

Sign in to ChatGPT if asked, then follow the prompts on the PublisherChamp listing to add the plugin. ChatGPT will ask you to sign in to Publisher Champ and approve read-only access when authorization is needed.

Make sure the Publisher Champ login shown during authorization is the account you intended to connect. Each connection is tied to that exact login.

4. Ask your first question

Open a ChatGPT conversation with PublisherChamp enabled and ask a question about your publishing data. If the connected Publisher Champ login can access multiple accounts through Shared Access, Luna lists the available accounts before running an analytics request. Choose all accounts or name the aliases or emails you want Luna to use.

Connect your Publisher Champ account to Claude

1. Open Luna AI

Sign in to the Publisher Champ account you want Claude to analyze.

Open Luna AI from the Publisher Champ sidebar, or go directly to:

Open Publisher Champ Luna AI

2. Select “Connect with Claude”

The button opens Claude with your account-specific Publisher Champ connector already prepared.

Review the connector in Claude and continue. Claude will then send you back to Publisher Champ for authorization.

3. Approve the Publisher Champ connection

Make sure the Publisher Champ login shown during authorization is the account you intended to connect, then approve access.

Each connection is tied to that exact Publisher Champ login. Signing in with a different Publisher Champ account during this step will not silently swap the connection.

4. Start a new Claude conversation

After setup finishes, open a new Claude chat. If Luna is not selected automatically:

  1. Select the + button beside the message box.
  2. Open Connectors.
  3. Enable the Publisher Champ connector for that conversation.

You can now ask Luna about your Publisher Champ data.

If this Publisher Champ login can access multiple accounts through Shared Access, Luna lists the available accounts before running an analytics request. Shared-account aliases are shown when configured; otherwise, Luna shows the account email. Choose all accounts or name the specific aliases or emails you want Luna to use.

How multiple accounts and connections work

“Another account” can mean three different things. Use the scenario that matches what you are trying to do.

What you wantWhat to do
Use one Publisher Champ login with two different Claude loginsSwitch to the other Claude login first, then use Connect another Claude account on Luna AI
Use several Publisher Champ logins inside one Claude loginSign in to each Publisher Champ login separately and connect each one from its own Luna AI page
Analyze shared or downstream accounts available to one Publisher Champ loginAsk Luna for data, then choose all accounts or specific aliases/emails when prompted

Connect the same Publisher Champ login to another Claude account

Use this when two people—or two separate Claude logins—need their own connection to the same Publisher Champ login.

  1. Open Claude and switch to the other Claude account.
  2. Return to the Luna AI page while remaining signed in to the Publisher Champ account you want to share.
  3. Find Connect a different Claude account.
  4. Select Connect another Claude account.
  5. Complete the Claude and Publisher Champ authorization steps.

The Claude switch must happen first. Otherwise, the new connection may be added to the Claude account that is already connected.

Each Claude login receives its own authorization. Deactivating one connection does not deactivate the other.

Connect multiple Publisher Champ logins to one Claude account

Use this when you manage separate Publisher Champ logins and want them available as separate connectors in the same Claude account.

  1. Connect the first Publisher Champ login using the steps above.
  2. Sign out of Publisher Champ.
  3. Sign in to the second Publisher Champ login.
  4. Open that login’s Luna AI page.
  5. Select Connect with Claude and complete authorization.
  6. Repeat for any additional Publisher Champ logins.

Claude stores each Publisher Champ login as a separate account-specific connector. The connectors do not merge their authorization or data.

note

Claude Free accounts are currently limited to one custom connector. To keep multiple Publisher Champ connectors in one Claude login, use a Claude plan or organization configuration that supports more than one custom connector.

Analyze shared or downstream Publisher Champ accounts

If one Publisher Champ login already has permission to view additional accounts, you do not need to create a new Claude connection for every shared account.

Account selection happens inside your AI conversation:

  1. Ask Luna an analytics question.
  2. If the connected Publisher Champ login has multiple accessible accounts, Luna lists them before retrieving data.
  3. Choose all accounts or reply with one or more exact aliases or emails from the list.
  4. Luna runs the analytics request only for your chosen accounts.

When a shared account has an alias, Luna shows the alias instead of its email. Accounts without an alias are shown by email. If two aliases would be ambiguous, Luna uses account emails so you can identify them safely.

The choice is made per analytics request, so you can change scope naturally—for example, ask for all accounts in one request and a single imprint in the next. It does not change the account selection used elsewhere in Publisher Champ and does not create or remove a Claude connector.

Publisher Champ still applies every Shared Access permission, including any author or book restrictions granted by the account owner.

How account privacy is protected

Every Luna connection is authorized for a specific Publisher Champ login. Publisher Champ verifies that authorization again whenever ChatGPT or Claude requests data.

This means:

  • A connection for Publisher Champ account A cannot be changed into account B by asking the AI assistant.
  • Separate ChatGPT and Claude connections have separate authorization records.
  • Shared or downstream data is included only after the user chooses the account scope in the conversation, and only according to the Publisher Champ permissions available to the connected login.
  • Luna’s Publisher Champ analytics tools are read-only.

You remain in control of both the connection and the accounts it can analyze.

Review or deactivate a connection

Open Luna AI and find Active AI connections.

Each ChatGPT or Claude connection is listed separately, together with its connection date.

To revoke one connection:

  1. Find the connection you want to remove.
  2. Select Deactivate.
  3. Confirm the action.

Only that selected connection is revoked. Your other AI connections remain active.

You can also remove PublisherChamp from the corresponding AI assistant. Removing it in both places keeps your plugin or connector list tidy, but deactivating it in Publisher Champ is what immediately removes its access to Publisher Champ data.

Troubleshooting

I connected the wrong Claude account

Deactivate that connection from Active AI connections. Then sign in to the correct Claude account before selecting Connect another Claude account again.

Claude says the connector already exists

Check whether you are trying to connect the same Publisher Champ login twice inside one Claude account. If you intended to connect a different Publisher Champ login, sign out of Publisher Champ, sign in to the other login, and begin again from that login’s Luna AI page.

Claude is connected, but Luna is not available in my chat

Start a new conversation and enable the connector from the + → Connectors menu. You can also review it under Customize → Connectors.

Luna is showing data from more or fewer accounts than expected

Tell Luna which account scope to use in your next request—for example, “Use all accounts” or “Only use Imprint A.” For shared accounts, use the exact alias or email Luna provides. Luna will not run a multi-account analytics request until an account scope has been chosen.

I cannot see an active Claude connection in Publisher Champ

Refresh the Luna AI page after completing authorization. If it still does not appear, remove the incomplete connector from Claude and restart the connection from Publisher Champ.

The PublisherChamp plugin page does not let me add it

Make sure you are signed in to the intended ChatGPT account and that plugins are available for that account or workspace. Workspace administrators may control which plugins members can add. If the listing still does not work, contact support@publisherchamp.com.

The Claude or ChatGPT button is disabled

The Luna connection service may be temporarily disabled. Refresh the page and try again, then contact us through live chat or email support@publisherchamp.com if the button remains unavailable.

Ready to talk to your publishing data?

Open Publisher Champ Luna AI, connect ChatGPT or Claude, and try:

“Give me a clear summary of my publishing performance this month, including sales, royalties, reads, and advertising spend.”

From there, ask follow-up questions naturally—just as you would with an analyst who already understands your Publisher Champ account.
